A sonically woven, straightforward affair.   
     
This album is like being at an ocean, listening to the waves come to shore. 

Comprised of two previously released e.p.'s and new, additional songs. This self titled full length shouldn't sound strange to those that enjoy Depeche Mode or the Smashing Pumpkins album " Adore ".   

The vocal weaving of melodies that Chino Moreno is known for rests comfortably here amongst the dichotomy between strange/happy music. Phil Hartman

    He normally didn't drink. But when he did, Phil Hartman drank Dos Equis.

Self - Breakfast With Girls

12 years after it's release, Breakfast With Girls is still Self's masterpiece. 

Anchored by Matt Mahaffey, Self represents all that is tasteful.

 Lush harmonies, intertwined guitars, retro drum patterns, hip hop beats, thoughtfully placed jazz samples, melodic low ends and a sugary sweet voice that cascades over all the aforementioned.  

This is definitely a desert island pick.

The truth of the matter is: Within the not too distant future, I will be buying a Cockapoo.

Why wouldn't I? They're cute and cuddly and most importantly.... they know Karate =) 

OK Soda - You Remind Me Of Something.

Every time the name comes up, my nostalgia kicks in.   
That sunny, quiet morning in the summer of '94. 
Just me and a can of some soda my mom bought me as a bribe.  
A bribe that ensured I wouldn't care about being taken away from my puppy for the night and instead having her friend, Kaloni watch me for the night at her house while my mom went out.  


" Honey, would you like anything before I drop you off? "
" There's this new soda out there now, can I try it? "
" Of course " 


Mom buys it, I hold it in my hands in astonishment.  Never had I laid eyes on such a interesting can. 
So much so that I waited UNTIL THE NEXT MORNING to drink it. 
I woke up and opened the can in front of a BIG window that overlooked their backyard. 
I will never forget how happy I was that mom bought that for me.
